Two small issues while switching to Ubuntu

A few days ago, I endeavored to install a new SSD, and dual boot both OS.

I have to admit it took me an embarrassing amount of time to set up.Windows kept complaining there were unmoveable files that prevented the proper shrinking of my HDD for data.

It took me a couple of hours trying different things before throwing my hands up and just partitioning using Gparted. I know that best practices is to do it inside Windows, but the common advice of checking for pagefile, canceling system restore, etc did not work in my case.

The other thing wasn’t so much an issue however I found it more efficient and less complicated to use Macrum reflect than Windows’ system restore to migrate Windows to the new SSD.
